Job Description
Responsibilities*
The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN), Department of Systems, Leadership, and Populations seeks a Research Assistant who will assist the Principal Investigator (PI) with their project titles: Strengthening Enforceable Community Partnerships to Address Poor Mental Health and Substance Misuse Among Workers in Michigan During Covid-19 and Beyond. The Research Assistant will (1) become PEERRS certified; (2) assist with recruiting and enroll study participants; (3) assist in collecting survey and interview data; (4) work on data management and analysis; (5) attend regular study team meetings; (6) assist with community-engaged research activities and work collaboratively with the Project's Steering committee (SC), including coordinating SC meetings and maintain records of meetings; and (7) assist with other duties as assigned or required for research projects.

Required Qualifications*
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB: Applicants must be a current graduate student. The student must be available for weekly meetings. The student should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint), proficient in SPSS and Qualtrics. Students will be running survey analysis using SPSS software. The student should exhibit attention to detail, an interest in research and the topic, an ability to work independently and adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Graduation from a college or university of an equivalent combination of education and experience in public health and health promotion in minority populations.
- An understanding of scientific research, medical, and research terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision with diverse teams of people in a diplomatic, collaborative and effective manner.
- Demonstrated computer skills, including expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Qualtrics, RedCap, and qualitative software (ATLAS, NVivo) preferred.
- Demonstrated time management skills.
- Demonstrated problem solving and conflict resolution skills with analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to serve diverse populations
